  • Students will review vocabulario 1.1 and take a quiz.
  • Students will finish reading El tiempo de juego and complete comprehension questions and post-reading activities.

  • The student compares and contrasts contemporary issues affecting Spanish- speaking countries and the United States.
  • The student understands subtleties of meaning in a variety of level-appropriate works, including idiomatic expressions and figurative language.
  • The student exchanges personal reactions to written information related to the target cultures.

What are we doing today?

  • Students will complete a listening activity and early education.
  • Students will participate in a discussion about how individuals benefit society.

What is the homework?

  • In preparation for tomorrow’s reading, research Carlos Fuentes and his life, major accomplishments, and impact on world literature. Also, research other contemporary figures that have influenced society.
  • Complete this blog post for Tiempo de juego. Because many of you had issues with this link on Monday night, you may complete this post before Friday @ 12.

  • The student researches and discusses how the viewpoints of people in countries where the target language is spoken are reflected in their practices and products, such as political systems, art, architecture, music, and literature.

  • Students will share the findings from last night’s research.
  • Students will begin reading En esto creo by Carlos Fuentes.
  • Students will continue with current events.
