Spanish II Honors: Week of August 1

Monday

What are the learning objectives?

  • The student understands the learning objectives of the class.
  • The student understands classroom procedures, policies, and assignments.

What are we doing today?

  • Galuszka will discuss the syllabus, blog, VHL Central, classroom procedures, grades, objectives of the class and assignments.
  • Students will get to know each other by interviewing classmates with questions provided by Señora. Galuszka.
  • Students will begin reviewing topics from Spanish I.

What is the homework?

  • Purchase Meade composition book or bring $1 to purchase one from The Hole in the Wall.
  • Complete homework in VHL Central.
  • Study vocabulary.

Tuesday

What are the learning objectives?

  • The student describes themselves and others in the target language.

What are we doing today?

  • Students will review concepts from Spanish 1.
  • Students will play a sentence race game with the verb ser and descriptive adjectives.

Wednesday

What are the learning objectives?

  • The student describes themselves and others in the target language.

What are we doing today?

  • Students will write a journal entry describing two famous Hispanics.
  • Students will continue reviewing topics from Spanish 1.
  • Students will play a game in small groups describing pictures of people in Spanish.

Thursday

What are the learning objectives?

  • The student asks and answers questions about their daily activities.
  • The student describes families and family members.

What are we doing today?

  • Students will go to the computer lab to work on vocabulary for 15 minutes.
  • Students will work with a partner to practice describing pictures of families using possessive adjectives.
  • Students will watch a Flash Cultura about Mexico and answer comprehension questions.

What is the homework?

  • Study for tomorrow’s quiz.

Friday

What are the learning objectives?

  • The student examines the influence of the geography of the countries studied on cultural elements such as food, clothing, dwellings, transportation, language, and art.

What are we doing today?

  • Students will take a quiz over descriptive adjectives, possessive adjectives and the verb ser.
  • Students will be given the guidelines of the Asi soy yo project.
  • Students will review regular present tense verbs and play Battleship.
