About This Week

This week,  we will begin discussing human geography, learn how to do a cultural comparison presentation, and add some advanced grammar structures to our toolbox. There is a lot to cover over the next three weeks, so please check the blog and class calendar daily to stay up-to-date. Also, I will return your interview questions, email replies, and mid-unit assessments throughout the week and update your grades in Synergy/StudentVue. Please see me with questions about feedback. There are no vocabulary quizzes or current events for this week.

Here are some resources to help you further contextualize our new theme: La geografía humana

  • The poem “Where you from?” by Gina Valdés provides a good introduction for this topic.
  • Francisco Jiménez’s “Cajas de cartón” and the film America Now: Children of the Harvest (2010), available on the Dateline NBC website, are two additional
    resources that address U.S. immigration.
