About This Week

This week, we will begin continue discussing human geography and how it influences traditions and values. This week is devoted to finishing your video projects. We will use our shortened class period on Friday to watch the videos. Please check the calendar for important dates. Be prepared to present current events throughout the week.

Here are some resources to help you further contextualize our new theme: La geografía humana

  • The poem “Where you from?” by Gina Valdés provides a good introduction for this topic.
  • Francisco Jiménez’s “Cajas de cartón” and the film America Now: Children of the Harvest (2010), available on the Dateline NBC website, are two additional
    resources that address U.S. immigration.
