Monday

What are the learning objectives?

  • The student understands and discusses the influences of events and issues on the relationships between countries where the target language is spoken and the students’ own culture.
  • The student demonstrates Intermediate-Low to Intermediate-Mid proficiency in oral and written presentations with respect to proper pronunciation, intonation, and writing mechanics.

What are we doing today?

  • Students will take vocabulary quiz 1.2.
  • Students complete a speed- dating activity.
  • Students will go over the review sheet for the mid-unit assessment.

Tuesday

  • The student demonstrates comprehension on level-appropriate literature.

What are we doing today?

  • Students will present their cultural comparisons about social causes.
  • Students will complete an activity as they listen to the presentations of their peers.

Wednesday

  • The student presents previously learned as well as newly acquired information on topics related to contemporary events and issues utilizing cultural references where appropriate.
  • The student elicits and expresses opinions, preferences and other topical information.

What are we doing today?

  • Students will take the Tema 1 Mid- Unit Assessment.

Thursday

What are we doing today?

  • Students will complete activities about human geography. Afterwards, students will write a journal entry about how the community in which they live have changed as a result of human geography.
  • Students will begin working in  groups to complete a documentary film over traditions and values. Students will be given readings and audios that include comprehension and extension questions. Students will use these resources to work on a documentary video about the influence of human geography on the traditions and customs of a people, and the importance of the transmission of customs, knowledge and beliefs from one generation to another.

Friday
