Spanish III Honors: Week of February 11

About This Week

This week, students will continue with our first thematic unit of the semester, En el consultorio. Click here for the vocabulary list. Students will learn the differences in use of the preterite and imperfect tenses. Students will have an assessment over the uses of both tenses on Thursday. The instructions for the sections of the exam are as follows:

  • Section I: Choose which tense is being described.
  • Section II: Choose which tense you would use to express the sentences below in Spanish.
  • Section III: Choose which tense the following words and expressions normally accompany.

Prerequisite Skills:

Students should still continue to study the formations and meanings of verbs in the preterite tense. preterito-conjugation-sheet-master (1)

 


Monday

What are the learning objectives?

  • Students will be able to express actions that are completed in the past.
  • Students will be able to express the beginning or end of a past action.
  • Students will be able to narrate a series of past actions.
  • Students will be able to describe an ongoing past action.
  • Students will be able to express habitual past actions and events.
  • Students will be able to describe physical and emotions states in the past.

What are we doing today?

  • Students will complete a conjugarte activity as a warm- up.
  • Students will complete pp. 29 +30.
  • Students will get a packet of notes over the preterite vs. imperfect. Students will be asked to highlight, circle, etc.
  • Students will complete a handout over the preterite and imperfect.

What is the homework?

  • Complete your VHL activities (2nd block only)
  • Study vocabulary.
  • Check the class calendar for important dates.

Tuesday

Thursday
