Spanish III Honors: Week of April 15

About This Week

This week we will continue with our new thematic unit, La vivienda. Click here for the vocabulary list. On Tuesday, students will present their favorite room of the house to their classmates. Students will also begin working on a project: La vivienda: una comparación cultural and learn how to use formal commands in Spanish.


Prerequisite Skills:

In order to master the formal commands, it is important to know the present tense like the back of your hand. Use the following document to review the present tense.

Monday

What are the learning objectives?

  • Students will be able to recognize rooms in a house.
  • Students will be able to identify common household objects.
  • Students will be able to describe some household chores.

What are we doing today?

  • Students will complete a warm-up activity: translations.
  • Students will complete a reading about patios in Spanish architecture and answer T/F questions.
  • Students will complete a whole-class speaking and listening activity (chain activity).
  • Students will write a journal entry answering the questions on p.103, activity 4.

What is the homework?

  • Complete VHL activities.
  • Study vocabulary.
  • Prepare for tomorrow’s presentation.

Tuesday

  • Students will be able to recognize rooms in a house.
  • Students will be able to identify common household objects.
  • Students will be able to describe some household chores.

  • Students will present their favorite room of the house to the class.

  • Students will finish presenting their favorite room projects.
