What are the learning objectives?

  • The student plans and produces written presentational communications.
  • The student comprehends level appropriate written language on topics related to contemporary events and issues utilizing cultural references where appropriate.

What are we doing today?

  • Today, students will take a benchmark writing test. This test will not go in the gradebook.
  • Señora Galuszka will explain and provide due dates for the interview projects that students will complete this semester.
  • Students will finish working on their magazine projects.

What are we doing today?

  • We will begin Theme 1- Families and Communities. Students will begin familiarizing themselves with the theme by working in groups to make a list of community organizations that exist within their school or community.
  • Students will share their work with the class adding commentary from the guided questions of the task.
  • Students will write a journal entry about which of the mentioned organizations they think to be most important and why.
  • Students will be given time in class to work on their current events.

  • The student understands connected discourse presented through print and electronic media in the target language.

What are we doing today?

  • Students will read about a foundation dedicated to help youth in Bogotá.
  • Students will work in small groups to answer comprehension questions.
